Chinese Discrimination

As a person who could enjoy a good laugh, I don’t really care about discrimination against people similar to me (to a degree as just making jokes is okay as it is all for the laugh, however getting beaten for the type of person you identify as will anger me) so I have heard my fair share of stereotypes. I would be focusing on the stereotypes of a Chinese individual. I heard many jokes about Chinese individuals like how they have tightly small eyes, about small body proportions, consumption of any animal (it is negative because many places that at eating their own pets), strict parents, poor communication, and being unable to identify with common trends like video games. Even the positive aspect of are negative as people expect us to be higher in the academic studies, people expect us to apologize after any event, and people expect us to be able to fix a computer. Stereotypes aren’t always harmful or should I say they aren’t meant to harm others often. Stereotypes are built under the foundation that information can be filled if two pieces of information are similar. What better platform can abuse this thought process better than media. It has always been out their form propaganda to twitter posts. Our brains automatically associate the information as true because we don’t know any better. Media has portrayed many Asian stereotypes in a strange light as there are many different Asian cultures that are very similar therefore it is most lumped together as there is a lot of information, for example all Asians are ninjas but, that is only Japanese. Our jobs as a misunderstood type of culture is to explain these misconceptions when they portray us from a very different perspective than our own. In general, we should understand that stereotypes can be far from the truth and we should judge others on these stereotypes as it could offend them or create a negative perspective on the people, thus we must explain who we are if someone is just assumes who we are. I have a different ideology and that is we should save them the trouble of being embarrassed and just laugh about it if we can.

Fake News, The New Uncontrollable Propaganda

Let’s talk about fake news. Now people are experiencing this either knowingly or unknowingly. The reason we receive, it is because the media is a business like a lot of things. These businesses need profit, so they draw viewers in with interesting news. Not every day it is interesting, so they stretch the truth or just plain out lie. Also they don’t care where the content came from, just as long as it is interesting to keep the masses watching. This fake news happen to a lot of news outlets even trustworthy news outlets.
In order to identify fake new you must first question the article's validity like if it is a trustworthy site, do other sites also have this information, the likelihood and other questions the Globe and Mail talks more about the fake news and everyone should watch it as it makes a lot of sense, but as a news site question it since they are a business too. Also take the quiz to test your judgement abilities on fake news. What I got was a six out of ten.

I think I got that because I have difficulty telling the difference between fake news and satires. I learnt that people do fake news for political gain, people do crimes by altering the information, people just do it for popularity via viral pranks. I also learnt that fake news isn’t satires, and mistakes. Fake news is very unacceptable as it can influence the masses and change people's lives even if it isn’t verified. Fake news is terrible as it hurts who ever it targets negatively. Fake news harms people when they don’t know that it's fake because it can cause people to believe in horrible things for example a D.I.Y lava lamp was actually a bomb killing those who tried. People are very easily tricked or manipulated by these actions.

The School Systematically Stop Students Sight in Sites

There is always limitation when accessing a tool like safety precautions however, should a school block certain sites on their internet to prevent students and teachers from accessing them. Like in all conflict there can be an exception, for example the media department has a blog unit in which teacher question students then, student blog about their answers. In one particular case students had to answer to the twitter war. The student doing that blog would have to view a few article for the information however, if one such student tried to access twitter to view the actual tweets that caused the war, they will not be able to access it. People should be productive in school as it determines how well you will live life. These sites are for recreation use and can reduce productivity however it is up to the user to access these as jobs don’t have direct limitations on these sites however, they do have strong consequence like getting fired.
The use should be a teacher matter as students could access it for actual information to drive their points. Teacher would most likely not use it for their recreational use as they have a job and with all job if you get caught fooling around, you can be labelled as an inefficient worker and get fired. In all of this the teacher should have most power over the internet because they work directly with the student to create a good learning environment. Even though the three sites, Instagram, Snapchat and Netflix, are mainly for recreational use they can still be access for knowledge like in different forms of media like movies, or can be used to judge user like Donald Trump. The main change that I want to address is the shift in power as teacher the second main source for student to receive knowledge should be able to control the first main source of information, the internet.

This is no longer about Gender this is about the Internet

The one motto I stand for is that if one wanted to be treated as equal, one must look at all perspectives to truly be an equal. This statement stands even to the social network giant of Twitter and in nowadays Twitter conflicts began to arise. One of which has an article that caught my eye, which is the conflict between Stephanie Guthrie and Gregory Alan Elliott with the article rightly named Wars of the Hashtaggers. After reading the article (http://torontolife.com/city/crime/twitter-gender-war-stephanie-guthrie-vs-gregory-alan-elliot/) I came to a conclusion, I have doubts on humanity. In all seriousness, these precautions did more harm than good. Gregory Alan Elliott lost a lot in the situation even though he had technically won the war. The man lost his job and is now a target to Stephanie Guthrie supports. The general feeling is actual doubt in the situation because it is really unbelievable on people’s actions to create drama.

The people that are involved in the situation I feel are all wrong as Gregory was put into jail, Stephanie kept this going on to create tensions, and the justice system treated this as a rape. The people in the justice system, lengthen the time of trial to such a long degree that evidence was simply running away. The punishment itself is horrible as Gregory was put into jail before a fair trial came into a resolution.

I think that actions on the internet can be punishable by law however to a degree as people are very unreliable on the internet thinking that they are protected by a simple screen. For some examples death threats that are highly detailed, actual murder scenes, (because some people can be traumatised after that) and content that is unacceptable because it targets a certain group. However I don’t think that a tweet that disagree with someone is punishable by jail time.

Work and How to Master it

Work something that is either difficult or not interesting to prevent you from doing it. These are a few tips on how to both complete and achieve beyond your limits. First, if the work is very difficult then, organize it may seem unnecessary at first but, once you create it you can create your ideas in both a fluent and professional way. Using this organization will give access to due dates or periods of time in which you can work on it or perhaps you are doing a project where you can't consult with your group member first dividing the work will create balance in the amount of work done. Secondly, it will make work mounts easier to do over a period of time like, a bit for a day or if you are like me subjects per day. It is both easy to apply, and can be applied to anything.
Image result for work images
Now how do you divide the work you divide it first with the basics and anything you want to establish earlier. Secondly, you do the easy stuff first because you are going to have to do it anyway and as long as you can understand the context in which it is use like for example you have to read so and so pages and answer these true and false questions.Well, you do not do the question first because you need to understand what they're asking by reading the pages. For all the hard questions, ask the teacher and consult (or if it is a workplace just ask employees or even the boss) they are not going to scold you for not knowing and what is the worst they can do for not knowing. For finalizing your work you need to read it out loud because it helps you understand the flow and knowledge which is close end like short answer, read the book again and asks these questions in your head does this apply both to my knowledge and the books? Have I fully understood the books? Have I gotten all information, both necessary and unnecessary from this book?

How do you like to do the work? First you need to establish a connection with the work and yourself by applying stories into examples for clarity or, think about how does this apply to you? For example, this blog for English work and I made it interesting by writing my thoughts and I will be using it to remind myself how to get through in tough times of workload by using these points.

Here are the tips summarized:

  • organize work
  • do the easy work first
  • ask questions
  • make it interesting

To meme or not to meme?

When I think about the media I think relinquish the system, stop with this standardizing of genders and stop this stereotyping of minority groups for their skin tone and gender, but I think this kid went too far when he sued them for making fun of his haircut. This story gain praise and is an article(www.bbc.com) about this one kid who sued media for making fun of his hair cut, not verbally but visually by the memes. This kid named Ziggy from Australia sue when a picture of him on his 18th birthday became widespread and he was now on the internet among the memes. Now, it wasn’t to make fun of himself at first with the picture, but the media praise with the use of the picture by manipulating it and using iconic meme for other enjoyment. Ziggy didn’t take kindly to this and tried to sue them for these wretched images displaying his ridiculous haircut. A few of these dreadful displays at the defensive, and delirious delinquent disapproval are a horse, coin, skunk hair, mop, bill and many others.
Now, the question that remain do I think these actions at rational or irrational. Well, I think the media shouldn’t be held responsible for the case. The media should be along the lowest to be held responsible by the creators of this meme, and the consumer that poked fun. He should really blame either the photographer that took the picture, the barber who made the hair cut or himself for not only approving the haircut, but allowing it to head to the internet, well knowing what those on the internet are capable of. The media only increase the popularity with memes. He was the root source to allow something like this to happen to himself. People do make fun of him for the haircut, but if it makes it so uncomfortable, then he should just change the hairstyle or wear a hat.

Video Game Influence

Related image          Video games one of the best ways to escape from life. It impacts a lot how the mind works, give gamers a new experience(or just a copy of the same game with the same title) and it is more controlling than most forms of entertainment.Video games are an incredible invention that trains its consumer's mind to the specific genre they are entitled to. For example, the common action game challenges your reflexes or the puzzle game challenges our mind to find answers more efficiently and effectively. Video games have a long way from 8 bit graphic to an open world so well made it basically makes you feel like you're in a movie. This is a great ways to immerse the consumer into the products. There are also games that provide you with a sense of heavy atmosphere like the common horror game. These help the consumer to be engage in the game play this in turn, it can take control of your life with the hours and hours you put into the game. It may be unbelievable, but it is true there's even a culture that surrounds it and it is Otaku. This is where people dedicate most is their life to video games. It simply takes persuade the consumer to play its game so the companies can make more profit. Not only that, but, games can also be taken as an actual job. This job is due to competitive play like athletes. There is also a use in streaming which can also earn you some money, which consumer are willing to watch their favourite people to play games and listen to their commentary. This can really change how someone can live because this means you can play not just casually like once a week but for the rest of your life. Now games are changing and its effectiveness with the population is increasing to allow other forms to take control too. For example phone games, it is still considered a video game and people still put both money and time too. Games have an impact in many lives, but many people play more casual than competitive, so there is no worry for games taking over the world’s population.
In conclusion, video games are not only competitive but, puzzling. Video games offer more interactive experience and video games can just be taken as seriously as sports in it own way. Whether or not to buy is not just only depends on the game but, the target audience desire.

Effects of Bottle water

What is the most the prime suspect of droughts, floods, storms, loss of land, habitat, glacier, homes and even lives?

Bottled water has been draining us dry for far too long. It has been cheating us, it has been lying to us, and it has been taking from us for and we have done nothing but, accept this thing into our society, but in reality it is really more like a virus to us all. We never realize it because the effects don’t affect us directly right away, but it affects us passively with its very existence. Let me explain with reason, evidence, and my response and we will see what truth to behold. First, we need to understand how it  is cheating us, and lying to us “Bottled water costs about 2000 times more than tap water...them feel scared and insecure if they don’t have it and that’s exactly what the bottled water industry did. One of their first marketing tactics was to scare people about tap water, with ads like Fiji’s Cleveland campaign. ‘When we’re done,’ one tap water exec said, ‘tap water will be relegated to showers and washing dishes.’... In a recent full page ad, Nestle said: ‘bottled water is the most environmentally responsible consumer product in the world.’”(storyofstuff.org/movies/story-of-bottled-water/) They have cheated us by the amount they take away from us. The cost is much more for water that is clean. Even, if the water wasn’t clean there is a solution, boil it. Boiling actually get rid of most of the bacteria and is very effective. It is also more cleaner and more cost effective than bottled water ever could be. They have lied about it in their campaigns, like in all company there's always this one unwritten rule, profits rule over all, even in customer satisfaction. Nestle lying about bottled water being the most environmentally responsible consumer product in the world is such a big lie. It actually goes further with the use of water. It takes more water to clean it than it has which is harmful for the environment because you have to send that water out to the seas. The plastic itself is more expensive than the water and it is harming the environment when, you throw it away. At the end of the day it is plastic so it takes longer to be destroyed. This is a problem when landfills, lakes, and it gets into the atmosphere when people burn it so it doesn’t consume all the space in the world. In landfills, it piles up and the gases from producing it and destroying it add to the problem to global warming. Global warming is the cause of droughts, floods, storms so it makes sense to put the blame on plastic bottles.

However there is actually a bigger threat to the environment and it is us. Now readers you may be confused, but let me explain. The reason I pointed at all of us is because what are we? We are the consumers of these plastic bottles. We were the ones who fell into the traps of big corporations and we were the ones who will always consume until our death and to this earth will have an end to its suffering for helping a small species grow out of control. Is there a silver lining? Yes if you're still reading. There is a way to end these tricks, to slow the inevitable pain, and to ensure a future where our kids and their kids live as bright as the stars they are and it is very simple. It buys less, and be cost effective. Now as consumers we will always consume so global warming will inevitably end with the lost of humanity, but it doesn’t have to end like this. I will use water as an example, if I drink water should it be from the tap or from the bottle. First, weigh the pros and cons. Plastic is expensive, harmful to the environment, but it is almost found every store and is portable. Drinking from the tap can possibly be harmful to yourself, but is more environmentally friendly, and cheap. The solution is a mix, instead of both start off with tap water and boil it to lower the chance of it being harmful, more so than bottled water. Then fill it up in a reusable bottle so it can be  portable too. It may have more steps in hindsight, but overall it is less steps than plastic bottles of creating plastic filter water, clean bottle, put water in, seal it in an unnecessarily package, ship to store, wait for customers to buy it, and then drink it all. So, drink better water, with better results and better effectiveness by going the extra mile.
